What to do with a firework’s duds?
You have to be very careful with firework’s duds. It looks like a burnt tennis ball or larger. Depending on the force of impact back on earth, the dud can be busted open revealing time fuses and other internal guts. Proper disposal of a firework’s dud is important for safety reasons.
What you could do with it? Most reasonable it will be to wait not less than 15 minutes, then pick up the dud with a shovel and immediately place it in full of water bucket, but remember not to soak fireworks in natural body of water! (the compounds from fireworks can pollute water and ecosystem, concussion can also kill fish and other).
Furthermore you could watch and keep everyone away from it for at least 20 minutes, because sometimes duds explode late. Then wrap the soaked fireworks with using trash bags or plastic wrap – the wet explosives couldn’t dry on. Place fireworks in trash. If you don’t feel comfortable and safe placing fireworks in the garbage, contact with your local fire department. Some police and fire authorities could take fireworks and ensure proper disposal.
Fireworks cannot be recycled.
Don’t touch dud!
Don’t try to fire up again dud!
Don’t throw it in the fire pit!
NEVER try to repair it!
With dud follow as with angry women – go away to a safe distance and wait until it cools down! 😛
